Hi Ray. Thinking of you, New Years Eve 2007.

Hi Raymond,
I know you're not here for Mother's Day, but I know you will be thinking about your mum (Brenda) on her Special Day, as she will be thinking about you as she does this day and every day. She is missing you tremedously just as we all all. Lots of Love

Uncle Ray, you used to make us laugh when we were kids, I remember mum telling you off for teaching me how to draw naked ladies when I was 10. Wish you were still here.

Farewell to a real Soul Man. The Soul Scene in the Rotherham and Sheffield area will sadly be without one of it's real soul afficionados. Ray will be remembered as a lover of Soul Music, from his mod days in the mid sixties. Ray attended most of the legendary venues of the time. The esquire, the Mojo, The Cats Cradle in Sheffield. Witnessing live acts such as Otis Reading, Jimi Hendrix, Twisted Wheel, Torch. Ray was a collector of Britsh releases and as a DJ had the most authentic playlist of dancefloor soul from three decades...A Yorkshire Man through and through soul lovers should spare a moment to pay their respects to his memory and rejoice in the privilege of having known him in any way.

I'll always remember the joy Ray used to get telling everybody what he had found at his latest trip to the car boot sale (British Soul labels that is). Ray would never see anybody short, always be there to listen to your problems, never have a bad word about anyone, always up for the crack. Ray has started another journey to his soul heaven. Ray Hudson, a friend, a mate, a good husband and most of all a decent, honest as the day is long genuine good bloke. May you rest in peace, you will be sadly missed.
